I Still Matter’s founder, Carmen, was nominated by PARC Foundation and if we win I Still Matter will be forming more groups around the city! We will be able to further out mission by making healing through art more accessible to those that have limited access to treatment! We are super excited and as of today we are in FIRST PLACE!! Please help us stay there by voting for us and sharing the link on social media and heck, kidnap your friends phone right now and give us a vote!

Okay now back to Leigha.

Leigha joins us as I Still Matter’s Community Liaison! Leigh’s goal is to ensure fluid communication with community partners and help establish our brand in the community. Leigha is also a huge advocate for mental health and encourages others to reach out for help. Leigha also suffers from severe, chronic depression. Here is a little more about her…

Hello! My name is Leigha Morgan Krivacek and I am blessed to be the Community Liaison leader for ISM.

I am very active, love playing and watching sports, yet enjoy being girly, and I aspire to all things Audrey Hepburn!

I am 26 years old from Pittsburgh, PA. I have a BS in Business Administration from Westminster College where I played softball, was Student Government President, and Executive Treasurer of my sorority. I graduated cum laude in 2011 and the day after graduation I moved to Jacksonville. FL. No job. No friends, but I still took the risk.

I had my health, family and friends, and a full life – so why be depressed, right? I suffer from severe chronic depression and was diagnosed during my first bout in the fall of 2012. In early 2013, I completed the TMS therapy and felt ‘fine’ so I stopped my medication which was REALLY smart to do. In eaunnamed-16rly 2014, I relapsed and was left completely dysfunctional and wasn’t working, showering, eating, talking, anything. I had such terrible thoughts and on the day I acted on them I was Baker Acted. April of 2014 and THAT. WAS. THE. WORST. DAY. OF. MY. LIFE. I finally switched doctors, got on new medication, and have been extremely pleased with the results as I am back to myself, normal Leigha.

I am now a HUGE advocate for mental illness education and awareness. I have been searching for an organization where I can voice my journey and help empower others to seek guidance and to never give up and I Still Matter was the perfect fit. My professional career is based on building relationships, so, why not do it on a personal level as well?

I can’t wait to work with you. Will you help me minimize the stigma and speak out about mental health?

Leigha

Love, Leigha
